Wishing on Stars

I saw a shooting star last night driving home from dinner with Nicki. I didn't send a wish up on it though, because I know that my heavenly Father has everything under control, instead I'll just decided to enjoy that which He had created...Rev 4:11 Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created. (KJV)

The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handiwork.

It's all about perspective

I'm reading a new book, Clouds of Adversity-Valleys of Despair by Shirley M. Starr. It's a short book, but good so far. The synopsis of the book can be summed up as this, what we perceive to be problems in our lives, God sees as a means of growth and maturation. Though we won't always understand why God brings situations, or Clouds, into our lives what matters is who we are looking to in the middle of the storm. Below was the poem that closed out the chapter that I read this morning and I wanted to share it.

God said...
If you never felt pain, how would you know that I'm a Healer?
If you never went through difficulties, how would you know that I'm a Deliverer?
If you never had a trial, how could you call yourself an overcomer?
If you never felt sadness, how could you know that I'm a Comforter?
If you never made a mistake, how would you know that I'm forgiving?
If you knew all the questions, how would you know that I will answer your questions?
If you never were broken, how would you know that I can make you whole?
If you were never in trouble, how would know that I can will come to your rescue?
If you never had a problem, how would you know I can solve them?
If you never had suffering, then how would you know what Jesus went through?
If you never went through the fire, then how would you become pure?
If I gave you all things, how would you appreciate them?
If you had all the power, then how would you learn to depend on Me?
If your life was perfect, then what would you need Me for?

Does Jesus Care?

Does Jesus care when I've said goodbye to the dearest on earth to me,
And my sad heart aches till it nearly breaks; Is is aught to Him? Does He see?
O, yes He cares I know He cares! His heart is touched with my grief;
When the days are weary, the long nights dreary, I know my Savior cares.

Just my thoughts for today.
