Need a Skirt???
I don't know about you, but I have a hard time sometimes finding skirts. I forget how I cam accross this site initially but I can assure you that it will soon become a fave. Apostolic Clothing Company...and...the just came out with a modest skirt for the purpose of working out, a running skirt. Now I don't know about you, but that's pretty cool. Considering I abandoned my gym membership because I didn't feel comfortable working out in pants in mixed company. I this may change things for me entirely.

Dinner
I just have to say that I really look forward to the day when I get to cook for someone other than myself. I enjoy cooking, but I don't always cook for myself like I cook for my friends. Frankly, it's just not as much fun. I enjoy dinner parties & the social aspect to eating. But tonight I actually did make some real dinner, not just a sandwich.
I had some chicken that I needed to use. I got it at Safeway the other day & it was half off since it they were making room for the other sock to come out. So my dressing for it was super simple. During lunch I came home & put some EVOO on it, tossed some paparika & Mrs. Dash on it at put it in the crock-pot. High for 4 hours. The trick to making it really tender, I've found, it to cut a lemon in half and put that in the cavity. The acidity from the juice totally breaks down the bones and so the meat litterally falls off of the bone. Then I needed to use the last of my potatoes so I made some mashed potatoes & then I didn't really have any greens, so I took a chance on doing something a little different. I chopped up some of my romaine lettuce, that's right I said lettuce, sauted some shallots & garlic tossed in the lettuce & dressed it with a little S&P & a couple TBSP of beef stock. I never would have thought to do the lettuce intially except I saw it on a cooking show & that makes me really happy because I hate it when my veg goes bad because I couldn't go through it fast enough. Trust me when in doubt try the lettuce, you won't be sorry.
Alas the social aspect of sharing my how to is limited to this post, but I was really happy with how the lettuce turned out so I had to share it with someone. Hope your dinners were just as exciting as mine was flying solo.

Modesty Matters
I have a new link underneath my Modesty Matters page, it's called A Girl & Her Appearance By: Julie Fink at Journal for Women. Lately the Journal for Women that I read had been posting a series on how young ladies aught to present themselves, called The Girl Gone Wild, the Girl Gone Wise and the Girl Gone Weird. Which girl are you? And how do you want to appear to the world? Think it doesn't matter? God says otherwise.
1 Thessalonias 5:22 - Abstain from all appearance of evil.
I hope you enjoy her thoughts as well.

He's to clever for his own good
This is the face of a mastermind. Sure he's cute, sure he's a good buddy, but man o man he's a character. The more that he starts to feel comfortable the more he lets his personality start to come out and this week I got to learn a new facet of it.
See Sunday was my graduation from Bible Institute. YAY!!! I'm done...until a new class gets added. But that's another story. However, some of my friends chose to bestow certain gifts upon me to congratulate my efforts and included in one of those gifts were some Hershey Kisses...Yum!
Well Monday night we had a baby shower for Selena and I came home to discover that I am not the only one that likes them. Strewn accross my bedroom floor were about a dozen opened kiss wrappers, which was odd because I thought that I had more in the bag. Now chocolate is not good for dogs, and since Riley is the first dog that has stricly been mine I was concerned about what might happen to him (as a side note I'm happy to report that Riley is doing fine). It was amusing, I thought, that he should have thought to discard the foil from the kisses to get to the good stuff. So that's it right, I thought I'd just keep an eye on him and the next day he was fine. Well at least until Wednesday.
So now not only his he a good buddy & a character, but he's also clever, sneaky and has quite a sweet tooth. It's nice to see more of his personality start to show through & that he's letting his fur down as he gets used to his new set up.
